Frequently Asked Questions

Do you have questions about Nutritional Aesthetics®, or NAA Membership? Here are answers to the most frequently asked questions we’ve received thus far:

What is Nutritional Aesthetics®?

Nutritional Aesthetics is more than the combination of nutrition and aesthetics–it’s a growing field of practice based on an integrative approach to healthy skin. The Nutritional Aesthetics Alliance is working to define and set professional standards for this field of practice, and looks forward to certifying Nutritional Aesthetics Practitioners® in our upcoming Certified Nutritional Aesthetics Practitioner® (CNAP) Training Program.

What is an integrative approach to healthy skin?

An integrative approach to healthy skin combines healthy nutrition and lifestyle choices with natural skincare products and non-invasive aesthetic treatments, which builds a strong and sustainable foundation for optimum beauty, skin health, and longevity.

Can I use the term ‘nutritional aesthetics’ in the name of my business?

The Nutritional Aesthetics® Alliance is the owner of the registered trademark Nutritional Aesthetics®. While we cannot advise you on whether or not you will undertake the use of any particular mark in the name of your business, we can advise you the Nutritional Aesthetics® Alliance, naturally, expects to enforce its trademark rights as and if necessary to avoid confusion in the marketplace.

I consider my practice a nutritional aesthetics practice. Can I use the term ‘nutritional aesthetics’ on my website and in my marketing? Can I call myself a nutritional aesthetics coach?

You may use the term Nutritional Aesthetics® on your website and in your marketing (including social media), with the following attribution and link: “Nutritional Aesthetics® is a trademark of the Nutritional Aesthetics™ Alliance, LLC at nutritionalaesthetics.com.” The term ‘Nutritional Aesthetics Practitioner’ may only be used by graduates of our upcoming Certified Nutritional Aesthetics Practitioner® (CNAP) Training program. If you have further questions on the proper use of this mark, please contact us.

Can I call myself a nutritional aesthetician?

The Nutritional Aesthetics® Alliance does not use the term ‘nutritional aesthetician,’ as we do not license aestheticians. However, please see the answers to questions 3 and 4 regarding usage of the term ‘nutritional aesthetics’ to describe your coaching practice or methods.

How do I become a Certified Nutritional Aesthetics Practitioner®?

To become a Certified Nutritional Aesthetics Practitioner and use the credential “CNAP,” you must first be a member in good standing of the Nutritional Aesthetics Alliance. You must then successfully complete all of the requirements for the upcoming Certified Nutritional Aesthetics Practitioner® (CNAP) Training Program. This program is currently in development and we do not yet have an estimated release date, but we can reveal that NAA Membership is one of the CNAP requirements.

What’s the difference between being a NAA member and being a CNAP?

NAA membership is open to anyone. It provides ongoing, high quality, curated educational resources and support based on the practice of Nutritional Aesthetics to anyone interested in the skin-health link. NAA Membership does not imply that the member is a Certified Nutritional Aesthetics Practitioner, has a specific right to practice or scope of practice, or has completed any education or training in Nutritional Aesthetics. It is for informational purposes only. Members of the NAA Membership Program may refer to themselves as an ‘NAA Member’ or ‘member of the Nutritional Aesthetics Alliance,’ and also proudly display their NAA Membership badge in their practices, websites, and marketing materials as long as they remain a member in good standing. Certified Nutritional Aesthetics Practitioners are NAA members who are professionals already licensed in aesthetics, or certified in nutrition or health coaching who have applied to, been accepted into, and have successfully completed our upcoming CNAP Training Program. CNAPs have completed rigorous education in the practice of Nutritional Aesthetics, and also abide by specific professional guidelines and standards of practice.

Can I join if I’m outside of the US?

The NAA Membership Program is open to members inside and outside of the US. We have not yet determined international availability for the CNAP program.
